‘Harry Potter helped me overcome dyslexia,’ says Princess Beatrice

Princess Beatrice has spoken of how the excitement of discovering the Harry Potter novels as a youngster helped her to overcome her dyslexia.
The Queen’s granddaughter said that the condition meant that she had struggled to read books before coming across the JK Rowling stories. She described how the first novel in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, instilled a love of reading and that “from then on, I couldn’t put the books down”. The princess made the comments in a video message recorded for a literary festival, due to be held in central London, next week.
